Winegrowing
The advantage of this site is to be located on a qualitative and homogeneous terroir, that has much to give and a history to pass on. It is planted on a shallow bedrock (hard limestone) which gives freshness to our best grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Petit Verdot), and the wines of Labadie Wines draw all their strength from this. The following practices are used to optimize this terroir :
- Double Guyot pruning with the use of windows (spreading out the harvest)
- Grassing, which plays a role in competing with the vine while limiting the use of herbicides
- Disbudding and green harvesting
- Leaf removal, which keeps the vineyard in a perfect sanitary state thanks to the aeration
- Bio-control phytosanitary treatments: no insecticides, no synthetic products
- Revitalization of the soil thanks to mechanical weeding
